How might we optimise Kitt’s mobile app for better navigation and feature adoption?

Kitt is an end-to-end office company that helps brands find, design, build and manage their office. The Kitt mobile app serves as the primary touchpoint for clients, offering features such as desk bookings and door access. However, by early 2023, the app had developed a fragmented information architecture and outdated branding, leading to user frustration. One of the most frequent issues reported through live chat was door access failures, while the desk booking feature lacked critical functionality requested by clients. With Kitt undergoing a rebrand, it became clear the app needed a significant overhaul—not just visually, but in terms of functionality.

How did I have an impact?

Collaborating closely with developers, my product manager, and internal stakeholders, I led the redesign of the app, not only refreshing the its appearance but also reimagining its user experience.

Key outcomes included:

  • A rebranded UI with custom components, which laid the groundwork for Kitt’s future design system, Folio.
  • A restructured information architecture, making navigation more intuitive and reducing user frustration.
  • A fully reimagined desk booking feature, which saw immediate and sustained adoption by several clients.
  • A significant reduction in live chat complaints regarding door access failures, due to improved user feedback loops and expectation management.
